Nicecream is everywhere in the Summer months! I’m not surprised either as it’s a healthier alternative to traditional ice cream, tastes so good, and keeps us cool on those hot days. I’m so excited about the soft serve nicecream recipe I made last night, that I just have to share it with you today. Yes… it was that amazing!
Last night my fiance and I spent the evening listening to old vintage records while cooking a delicious and healthy dinner together. It’s pretty common for us to cap off an amazing meal we’ve made together with a delicious and healthy sweet, and that is exactly what we did. Once we finished dinner, I naturally walked back into the kitchen and pulled out the Vitamix to mix up some nicecream. It was so hot last night, the only thing we knew for sure was that we needed a nice bowl of something cold. We like to keep our ingredients clean and healthy in our home, while still making things that are tasty and delicious (which is not hard at all). I knew we had some frozen bananas, and I recently had restocked our raw cacao jar, so a chocolate nicecream was the winning flavour. It’s a habit of mine to count nutrients when making meals, so I rummaged around to see what other nutrients I could add to the nicecream to make it more magical!
So what exactly made this nicecream so magical? As I have said before, and will say again.. It’s all in the ingredients! I used frozen banana and nut milk to concoct a creamy base which makes the “ice cream” dairy free, and is popularly called “nicecream” for that reason. I also used raw cacao for the chocolate flavouring which is even richer in nutrients than dark chocolate, plus packed with a good source of minerals, b vitamins, and antioxidants. I also added a touch of raw unpasteurized honey for some extra natural sweetness. Raw unpasteurized honey is unheated and pure, meaning its nutrient value has not been degraded or altered. Last but not least I added in Harmonic Arts 5 Mushroom Powder for some extra immune boosting and disease-fighting benefits, giving the nicecream its extra added magic. This dual extracted powder contains some amazing medicinal mushroom sources in it like chaga, lions mane, cordyceps, reishi, and turkey tail. If you have some time and interest in the power of mushroom extracts, like the ones I just listed, you should research it further. They provide some pretty amazing benefits for our health and longevity.
